In the past week I have popped 3 tubes. It was over a year since my last flat. Let’s hope it’s this current trend is over and it’s at least another year before my next one. It would also be helpful to not try and navigate rock gardens in the dark.
Also, make this your reminder to make sure you have tire levers and a spare tube/patch kit on you in the woods. I think it’s a good idea to carry a spare AND a patch kit.
You don’t want to be far from the trail head and realize that your patch kit is out of glue and have no spare because “I never get flats”. Fortunately mountain bikers are generally awesome people and will sacrifice their spare on a sorry unprepared soul.
